A Change Of Pace - Guelph

I visited this restaurant for the first time this week. I tried the Western sandwich and also purchased a pound of bacon. After trying their bacon, I can never go back to store-bought bacon. I had the pleasure of meeting Irene, who is just as sweet as her famous butter tarts. It is a lovely establishment, and I highly recommend supporting them during these challenging times (COVID) for the restaurant industry.

Best down home cooking anywhere. Really enjoy the market place for my dinners at home. Turkey pot pie, beef stew, shepherds pie I could go on! Irene is just a wonderful soul! Oh ya and the best desserts!

As soon as I walked into this lovely, spacious restaurant, I was warmly greeted by Irene, who I believe is the owner and also our server. The tables were visibly sanitized and all staff wore masks except when eating or drinking. While waiting for my friends, I was offered tea in a large pot. I tried the cheeseburger and fries, which were both hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. My friends enjoyed a Greek salad with chicken, as well as a roast beef sandwich and fries (although one friend was expecting a hot beef sandwich and was slightly disappointed, she chose not to mention it). Irene provided excellent service, constantly refilling our coffee and tea and ensuring everything was to our liking. I noticed on their Facebook page that they offer a Breakfast in a Box deal with Mennonite bacon, sausage, eggs, and bread (which I took home) as well as a mouthwatering Applesauce Raisin Loaf. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant when I am in the area. Thank you, Irene!

Does not break the bank, ample gluten free options, the best bacon around, good coffee, lots of free parking, outdoor shaded covered seating or limited) indoor seating, Covid compliant . Their breakfast will satisfy even the hungriest person. Traditional breakfast options. Choose whatever you...like but make sure you include bacon. Highly recommended.

This restaurant has been going for many years in two locations. That says something. Nothing fancy, We stop for breakfast when we are run the area. Never disappointed.
