The first floor has hotel rooms while the ground floor houses the restaurant, which offers simple and comfortable seating. The hall is well-lit and well-ventilated, creating a fresh ambiance. During our visit, we focused on trying the local Konkani cuisine, specifically the "ghavan" dish. Ghavan is made from a rice flour paste, similar to dosa, and can also be made from indigenous "ambemohoren" rice on special occasions. A good ghavan should be of uniform thickness with a fine net pattern and circular holes. We tried the ghavan with coconut chutney and karvand pickle, and it was delicious, meeting all the criteria of a "good" ghavan. Guests can enjoy breakfast at Suruchi restaurant.
We recently stayed at this hotel for 2 days. The owner, Prathamesh, was very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were decent, but some of the pillow covers were torn. The rooms were clean, but only 2 towels were provided for 3 people in our 4-bed room. We were told that towels were not typically provided and that it was a courtesy, which was odd. We were served extra papads with our thaali without ordering them, but were charged for them initially. The charge was removed from the bill when we questioned it. The food prices were not clearly indicated on the menu, and there were extra charges for items like additional idli and chutney. The lack of communication about these charges was a downside. The hotel is centrally located with parking for 2 cars on the street. There are 4 rooms on the second floor, but no elevator. Guhaghar beach is within walking distance and is the best in the area. A visit to Tolkeshwar lighthouse and Dolphin Point is recommended for the beautiful view. The lighthouse has an admission fee and closes at 5 pm. The final ladder to the top can be challenging for older individuals. It is advised to skip the downtown Harne village due to an entrance fee charged by locals for non-local cars. Instead, take the bypass to Kadyavarcha Ganpati.
Beautiful simple local Veg Food now they have also renovated the restaurant. You added pavbhaji on the menu. You can try local delicacies such as ukdiche modak and aamras, but must be ordered well in advance
Located in the heart of Guhagar, Hotel Suruchi is a must-visit spot. Known for their delicious food, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that they also offer accommodation. We opted for an AC room and were impressed by the cleanliness and basic amenities provided. The highlight of our stay was definitely the food. Don't miss out on trying their homemade ukadian modak, it's one of the best we've ever had. Make sure to pre-order the modaks in advance. We also enjoyed their veg thali, which was light and easy on the stomach. The breakfast options, including Dadpe Pohe, ghavan, thalipeet, and batata vada, were all scrumptious. If you're in Guhagar and craving delicious homemade food, Hotel Suruchi is the place to go.
I went to Christmas 2018. Excellent hotel in this price class, with clean, neat spacious rooms. Responsive friendly staff, even the owner Mr Prathamesh Damle is so polite, helpful real guy. Hotel Essen is best authentic in Guhagar for vegetarians....Rooms are serviced daily. In just one sentence, Hotel Suruchi is the cheapest vegetarian hotel in Guhagar.
