Party's long over. There are better cooked breakfasts and hearty meals for walkers, at other cafes/restaurants in town, at a better price too. It's no longer a refuge for hikers, climbers and otherwise outdoors enthusiasts, as evidenced by the fact that they now close from September till the next summer. It's a great open space over two floors that could be utilised much better. Time for the owners to sell up and move on, so the space can be repurposed to better suit the needs of the community and local economy year round. Not just the needs of tourists over the Easter and summer holidays. Parking: Free street parking is always very limited.
We had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately our visit today was disappointing. According to Google, the restaurant has been closed for some time, and their own website states that they are closed for the winter. The meal type was listed as "Other."
The renowned climbing cafe was unfortunately closed because of understaffing, as stated on the sign posted on the door.
You can always relay on Pete's Eats to deliver on pints of tea breakfast anytime of the day. In our case a dreich Sunday afternoon.
