Chippers - Hancock

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Chipper's during our recent visit to Maine. We made a reservation ahead of time, which is necessary. We had attempted to drop by last year and were reminded of how delicious the food smelled. We're so glad we decided to return. They are only open from Wednesday to Saturday. The food was fantastic; I had the panko-crusted haddock, and my husband really enjoyed his lobster Alfredo. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was charming. It's definitely worth the trip! We made a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was fantastic, paying close attention to detail. We had some dietary restrictions, and she was very friendly, helpful, and courteous! The Seafood Scampi was excellent, and the Scallops au Poivre were wonderful! The 12 oz Steak was cooked to perfection, and the Margherita Shrimp was outstanding! Portion sizes were just right. We waited over an hour for our food, and the wine we ordered didn’t arrive until after our entrees were served. The food was just mediocre, especially for a place in Maine—where they should really know how to cook lobster. We chose this restaurant based on all the positive reviews, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. We regret spending two hours of our lives there, and we certainly won’t be returning. Extremely nice and hard working waitress. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work, our waitress was very friendly and made it a personal experience discussing the different dishes. She was one of two waitresses and was constantly busy and moving. The food was EXCELLENT, the best meal I have had in a long time and the family thought so as well.
