I was gone to purchase a cinnamon roll, but the older that was in the department at that time was dumping a smaller trash can into a bigger one, she had got done and attempted to serve me without washing her hands. That was pure nasty, just knowing and seeing how her hand was all over that trash. I don’t think I’ll eat here no more
Great spot to stop for gas. Cute store with kind employees who greet you as you enter. Clean bathrooms, fabulous snack and food options and a cute I love BBQ sign and big dinosaurs for photo ops. And LOTS of Tesla charging slots as well, if you’re in need of those. All around, a super cute clean place!
The BBQ restaurant was a big disappointment. Their meat ribs, brisket) had hardly any smoked flavor, and their sides were terrible. We’ve passed this place several times, but had to try it once. Once.
Great place to stop for fuel. Very clean with a large selection of food and knickknacks to choose from. The restrooms were very clean and in excellent condition.
During a recent road trip, I decided to try out Texas Best Smokehouse, attached to a gas station, in hopes of savoring some authentic Texas barbecue. Unfortunately, my dining experience was marred by several notable drawbacks. As I approached the smokehouse, the first issue that caught my attention was the swarm of flies hovering around the food displays. While I noticed that the meat was properly covered, the persistent presence of flies was off-putting and made it difficult to enjoy the meal fully. Consequently, I opted not to get any sides, despite them being cold as intended, as I couldn 't shake the unpleasant feeling brought on by the flies. When it came to the main course, I must admit that the food fell short of the expectation set by its name. The barbecue, though not terrible, was far from being the best in Texas. The flavors were rather lackluster, and the meat failed to deliver that authentic and smoky taste one would anticipate from a place with Texas in its name. The overall quality of the food was subpar, leaving me disappointed and wanting more. On a positive note, the employee working at the smokehouse was courteous and accommodating. They were quick to address any questions I had and provided attentive service, which slightly softened the impact of the less-than-ideal dining conditions. Despite the friendly staff, the presence of flies and the underwhelming taste of the barbecue overshadowed the overall experience at Texas Best Smokehouse. While the convenience of being attached to a gas station might make it an accessible option for travelers, the lackluster food and hygiene concerns leave much to be desired. In conclusion, my visit to Texas Best Smokehouse left me with mixed feelings. The flies swarming around the food and the mediocre taste of the barbecue significantly impacted the dining experience. While the employee 's helpfulness was appreciated, it wasn 't enough to compensate for the overall shortcomings. If improvements are made to address the cleanliness and food quality issues, Texas Best Smokehouse could potentially redeem itself and truly live up to its name. As it stands, however, I wouldn 't consider it a top-notch choice for experiencing authentic Texas barbecue.
