The only reason I can't achieve 5 stars is that our service from our server was pretty bad. The service of other people was great. No alcohol, but they had a nice wine card. We will definitely come back.
This restaurant is the perfect spot for a fancy dinner. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is beautiful. It's a nice change of pace from the busy city with a quieter ambiance. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
If you're seeking a restaurant with a charmingly rustic atmosphere, impeccable service, and fantastic food, look no further than The Log Cabin Restaurant in Highlands, NC. The scenic journey to the restaurant is well worth it, as you'll be treated to a delightful culinary experience that will leave you craving more. The Oysters Rockafeller were superb, the Steak Diane practically melted in my mouth, and the Horseradish Encrusted Halibut was absolutely delicious. Indulge in the Log Cabin experience and you won't be disappointed - highly recommended!
We had such an amazing experience at this restaurant! Jim and I loved the atmosphere and every part of our meal, from the appetizers to the French onion soup and our entrees - they were all exceptional! The staff was so attentive and we particularly enjoyed meeting Jason, the owner. This restaurant has definitely become one of our absolute favorites.
Don’t let this place fool you, it’s a steak house! The menu may not show it but they have a seriously awesome steak here and the cook masters in the kitchen know exactly how to grill one. After being turned away at several places off Main Street because the four of us didn’t make reservations ahead of time (as tourists I guess we should have known better) we stumbled upon this hidden gem nestled away from the pretentious down town strip. The host at the front was very courteous and we were quickly seated on the porch overlook. The cuisine selection was at first disappointing Antelope? Pheasant? the few cuts of beef available were covered up in peppercorn sauce or cilantro mint. After confiding in our server that all we wanted was a nice chunk of steak, without all the froufrou accoutrements our order for the Steak Diane (minus the Diane) was placed and bottle of red was uncorked to help pass the time. Several minutes later our server let us know they only had two Steak Diane’s left and we were going to be “upgraded” in order to accommodate our steak requests! When our plates arrived, the chunk of meat on them was about the size of a small car tire and the char was perfect but with a moist consistency one would expect from a true grill master who understood the secret to a hot grill and a long rest time. There was no need to ask for a steak sauce here, the flavor and the cut could easily stand on its own merits. Why this is not on the main menu I would not know, all I can do is recommend that they add it and also give the food wizard who runs their grill a raise. You will drop a few dollars in the place but I can assure you that when you order “off menu” it will be worth it!
