Hoji Cha-Eis is the second best ice/gelo I've ever had in my life. The best was the seasonal cactus fruit gelato in Damascus. When I was in Hawaii, I came here three times a day. It is an acquired taste, so it is not for everyone. I'm talking about the roasted green tea ice cream. It's phenomenal.
I first learned about Nana's Green Tea when my sister recommended it during my trip to Tokyo. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to visit. Thankfully, there's a location on this island, and I finally had the chance to try it. My sister is a fan of the Matcha Green Tea Float. Although I wasn't in the mood for ice cream, I decided to give it a taste, and it was impressive. The matcha flavor was prominent, and it wasn't overly sweet. I opted for the Hojicha Iced Latte, which I found quite enjoyable—a nice pick-me-up. I think it would likely be better than the options at Swimmers. Next time, I plan to try the ice cream for myself!
My wife wanted to check this place out of Waikiki. It is on the Japanese food court and can sometimes be employed. I can't remember the name of the Dessert tea she got, but it was definitely delicious as she really packed it with a variety of different flavors. Try it!
This is the most authentic matcha/green milk tea I've had! The quarter scoop here has more tea than the eight scoops I've had on the mainland. I understand that the scoop sizes may vary, but it's definitely worth it and a must-try if you’re in Waikiki. It’s located in the Japanese Food Hall, and it’s perfect to grab before or after your meal.
