The Storehouse is located in the Frobisher Inn hotel. While the Frob restaurant is more upscale, the Storehouse is mostly a bar. It is some kind of a...
I'd say was very nice location with other nearby essential stores to get to. Nice billiards area. Went for a co-worker gathering from doing concrete in the building and was a good experience. The other times I went with (co-workers)non locals had felt wastreated rudely by one of the older servers a couple of times, but got excellent service from 2 of the younger female servers anda guy who also took over for the older lady as I feel he felt she was being rude. All we did was walk in thinking it was opennot from the area 5 minutes before opening and sat down to play pool but was greated rudely by the older lady when doors wereopen an we sat down willing to wait as we noticed they were just getting bar ready but was informed we have to wait to beserved. Both co-workers felt an immediate rude demeanor towards our entrance not aware opening in 5 mins
I've been going here since 2010 with friends and it's a staple in Iqaluit. They do charge a coat fee of $1, but in the winter I totally get it. Our parkas take up lots of room so be prepared with your loonie or toonie. They have two levels; top has a fewpool tables that are always busy along with a Foosball Table, seating and the bathrooms. Bottom level has the DJ Booth, dancefloor, bar and more seating. I always love the big leather chairs as they're soo well worn in and comfortable. The atmosphere iseverything from comfortable lounge to dance club on the weekends. They serve a nice selection of drinks along with beer from thelocal Brewery, Nubrew. But be warned, a king can of Growers Stonefruit will set you back $11.75. I recommend sticking to Spiritsand Beer on tap. Typical for everything to cost more, so ask for prices if you must. They also have a restaurant located insideand I can remember far too many wing nights here as well. They food is good, typical pub style. The place is decorated with coollocals, by that I mean local animals. For those who have never seen a Muskox, you can say hello to the one mounted inside. Fromwolf to Polar Bear and even the headless Arctic Hare....they all make an appearance inside. For anyone also looking for locallymade items, it is normal for locals to walk around and show their work available for purchase. If you see something you like, bartering is normal. But don't push your luck, someone else might buy it before you decide that saving that $10 isn't worth itand it's too late. There are some servers who take orders but going to the bar is something quicker. Line up, wait and soonyou'll be on your way to not being as thirsty. It's also normal for the line to wind it's way up the stairs on a busy night.
