BlueBelle Bistro & Beanery - Kaslo

The location and quaintness of this place brought me back here for dinner. But I have to say it was a bit of a let down. My previous visits were breakfast and lunch and both were great and I would recommend. Its right downtown so kinda fun on the back patio.

We seem to get to Kaslo a few times a year and this was our first time eating at the BlueBelle. We sat outside enjoying their great patio. Service was average, maybe a little on the slow side for how quiet it was that day. I had the Santa Fe burger and my better half had the Pulled Pork. The Burger toppings were very good, as well as the bun. I'd say the patty was average at best. The pulled pork was tasty, but the bun to meat ratio seemed a little off.

This was a sweet busy restaurant. We enjoyed a great evening meal there with 16 of us in our group. It was very busy and we hadn't booked, so unsurprisingly we had to wait, which was fine. Soon as was possible we were all seated outside on the patio, which was very pretty and nicely lit with lights.

We looked at TA for a recommendation for lunch and this was perfect. I had the BLT and we started with the bruschetta. The bread was soft and crunchy and the tomatoes juicy. Everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. Great place.

We asked around what was the best place in town for food, and this name came up. Got there and sat on the deck out back. Cool wood structure on the deck but the green covering wasn't much of a sun shade. The menu is an odd funky sort Mexican flair to it but everything was really interesting and cool and the quadi foody types like me really liked it as well as the other couple who are more meat and potato crowd liked it too. The medi nacho's are NOT your regular pub style chips heaped with bad greasy cheddar and the pesto and feta on them was different and really good - everyone like liked it!The wife had the quesadilla which was good, but for me it should have had a meat option for it like - vegi like it is now and then chicken or pork as an add in option but it is there on the menu as a side choice but offer it in the item.Same for me with the enchilada - it was there with the usual suspects in it for ingredients but you can't get it with meat included in the description ...... I just ordered a side of the spicy chicken that's listed on the menu as a side but they didn't add it to the dish. It should be listed like the taco's are with a choice of pork or chicken and just add the price with it or the same price it is now without that option.When you get there the menu is different but it's a good kind of different !!Cheers'Dave
