Chez Serge Takeout - Kaslo

This restaurant is take-out only, but there is a picnic table outside. The french fries are delicious, and the milkshakes are great too. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the pumpkin spice milkshake was!

It may take a bit of time since it's a one-person operation, but it's definitely worth the wait! The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are excellent!

They were also out of fish batter, apparently because the staff member on duty forgot to prepare it. To make matters worse, they forgot my wife's fries order, but we didn’t bother asking for them to be replaced since the fries we had tried were barely edible. My burger was equally bland. It seemed like there was only one person working on a busy day, which was unusual since I eat here often and usually enjoy it. My friends at another table ordered poutine and could hardly eat it as well. I’m not sure what went wrong this time. On a positive note, our ice cream was very good.

Made the trip out to Kaslo on our Kootenay road trip specifically to go eat this poutine as suggested by a friend of ours who used to live in the area. Definitely lived up to the hype best poutine we’ve ever eaten. Fish and chips were fantastic too, and they had a cotton candy sundae!? I wish I had more room as I would have gotten that. Friendly and fast service. Kaslo is a really cute, quaint town and would be worth the trip up!
