Great food. poor service. Sunday evening we give them a pass. they were here and were great, not sure what happened tonight.
This restaurant offers a small but tasty selection. The service is efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is open and casual. By and large I would offer a moderate to strong recommendation but way short of a “must go.”
It is very convenient if you are staying at the property but the food was not the best. Highlights were the appetizers! But were two and they brought out my entree first then when we finally got someone’s attention to check on the other dish they offered to take the steak back to keep it warm while we waited for his octopus. When it finally came the fish was so over cooked it was inedible so we shared my dish and had a delicious dessert. So if we stayed at the Ritz again I’d give it another try because breakfast was delicious
The updated menu is appealing: lots of choices clearly conveyed and among different categories. However, two areas are lacking: salads and desserts. The dessert menu is highly limited and over the top in richness--it would have been nice to have it include mixed berries, a simple apple pie or tart, a not-too-sweet carrot cake, a SIMPLE chocolate cake, a gluten free option, a mixed sorbet dish, or (from my memory) the old beignets with dark chocolate and mango sauces. Also, it would have been nice to have a simple lettuce-based salad or two on the menu, which you used to have a couple examples of. The caesar salad proved too rich along with the branzino that was cooked in way too much of its fatty sauce. The roasted carrots were overly charred--unhealthily burned. Would have been nice to have a simple side like grilled zucchini and/or steamed spinach etc. And the tomato tart of the old menu was sorely missed. it would have been nice to have the dover sole entree come with a small side salad and/or a few small roasted potatoes. So overall, a nicely improved menu mostly in the entree section, but some healthier but gourmet options needed in the other sections...
