Cafe Ren Kamigyo - Kyoto

The owner of this restaurant is extremely welcoming and hospitable. Despite initially being closed for a tour group, we were pleasantly surprised when she welcomed us in. The menu offered a diverse selection of dishes, and my wife and I enjoyed the curry hotpot, vegan tako, Katsu, and the soy meat dish. After our meal, we had a lovely conversation with the owner, who even treated us to a complimentary dessert.

The Unaju (Eel on Rice) was delicious! The owners were very friendly. It wasn't very crowded for a drop-in lunch on Saturday.

Great food and the staff were so nice. It felt like visiting a mom and pop shop.

I enjoyed my food here. There are many options and the servers are friendly. It’s nice to buy some vegan stuff (soy meat, curry,etc) from here too.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. I tried the Katsu, Dumpling Plate, and Takoyaki, and all three dishes were delicious! The owner is also lovely. I will definitely be returning to this place.
