It gets crowded outside since the place was on the michelin guide. It took me about half an hour to get in on a Monday evening. Staff was nice but didn't offer to refill water and the space is a bit too small.
If you want to eat gyozas, this is the place. They really know how to do them. The gyozas are crispy in the outside, and the filling melts in your mouth. Didn't try and eat anything else as if felt a waste with such magnificent dish (although I cannot believe they are anything but good. The place gets extremely busy, so be prepared to wait. You can leave your name and go for a walk around or just wait, because it is for sure worth it.
We could stay only for one hour due to time restrictions but gyoza was a tasty and cozy place for me and my partner. We enjoyed a night out in Gion.
Just a kind of rule about Japan. Any place written up in any English media that is a cheap eat of any kind is just going to be perpetually slammed with tourists. This place has about 10 seats inside. 30min after opening the sign in list was about 25 groups deep. The gyoza are awesome, with a paste-like filling. I 'd give this location the edge although the Ginza and Osaka locations are pretty similar. Is it worth hours of waiting for gyoza? Hard to say, because I got there early and didn 't have to.
The gyoza was good, the side dishes I tried(cucumber, potato salad) were really good. One of the staff was not nice and rushed me to finish. I’ve only been there 25 minutes… That’s why it’s not 4 stars but 3 for me
