Kyoto Engine Ramen

This raven place is a narrow staircase through a narrow door on the right side. It's very easy to miss. It is a narrow space where it really only seats at the counter (which accommodates most of the store floor). The arms are fantastic (I recommend their spicy “sty” arms) some of the best I had in Japan. They offer a limited selection of rugs with some that are vegan, and for an extra ¥200 yen can You get gluten-free noodles instead of normal rug noodles. The owner is very friendly and fill the meal satisfactorily. They offer a paper apron for you to put so that the ramen soup does not on your clothes. A great place for those with certain nutritional restrictions.

Very tasty Ramen with gluten free and vegan options. Would definitely recommend KYOTO ENGINE RAMEN.

We went there for lunch on Saturday afternoon with my friends. Since we were 4 of us and the restaurant has less than 10 seats, we had to wait for sometime. But it was all worth waiting. The ramen they provide is gentle and not too oily, so that you can even finish the soup. They also have vegan options too which I think tourists from overseas would appreciate for. The owner was a very kind and friendly person and we talked with him about different things. I would love to come back again.

Stop looking at google map ramen reviews and come here IMMEDIATELY. Some of the best ramen we’ve ever had. I had the vegan ramen and my partner had the spicy miso chicken ramen, both were absolutely incredible. Really creative spin on flavour and full of depth, the owner and chef are both super cool and friendly and there’s excellent sake. If i lived in Kyoto, this would be my regular spot. Thank you guys for the awesome food, i will miss this spot!!!
