No napkins necessary when the flavors are this good! The sides are also incredible—definitely the best I've ever had. It's a fantastic spot for the whole family. The only downside is their limited hours, as they typically close around noon. That's my only complaint.
I ordered the brisket and fries. The fries were cold and soggy. The brisket had so much fat that I couldn't get past two bites. I tried to avoid the fat for the second bite, but ended up with more fat instead. None of the sauces were enjoyable either. The resolution I was offered was to order a leaner cut. I'm not sure why you would serve a pound of brisket when half of it is just fat.
Blanchard?s BBQ on W. Pinhook,Lafayette is unbelievable in this respect: If you are a BBQ fan as serious as I, you will taste the difference on your first visit. Brisket is a large product at almost any barbecue area in the south. But if you eat? ve Brisket repeated in a place, you understand that it hits and measures moisture in most places regarding tenderness (two different aspects). But not Blanchard? Matt Blanchard, the Pit Master cooks incredibly delicate and moist brisket every time! After having eaten at least fifty BBQ restaurants in the last 55 years, I know the difference. Nobody comes closer to Blanchard?s-period! Not in LA, TX, AL, MS, MT, The Carolina or elsewhere. By default, on a day when she ran out of the bride, I had more choice than eating ribs. That was pretty good. Big dark, smoked appearance, tenderly still with crispy crust, I will order it again. But I think Matt's Brisket is unbeatable. You should try.
Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The brisket and ribs were perfect, and the baked beans were from this world. All employees are very helpful and happy. Thank you for serving Lafayette!
Blanchard?s brisket is the best outside of central Texas. It?s super moist, a little on the fatty side, and has a beautiful bark. The mustard style sauce is tangy and goes well with the smoky meat. My favorite Blanchard?s side is the french fries, sans seasoning. (I realize that fries are not a traditional side for Texas-style bbq, but they are so good!
