K.d. 's - Lake Charles

Kd's Special Hashbrown was exceptional, as always. I can't recall ever having a bad meal here. They're open 24 hours and are a local favorite. The venue is small, but they manage to accommodate a good number of guests. Order everything and enjoy!

The ambiance is that of what you would envision a diner to be. Great staff, even better food.

Exactly what I would expect from an older diner. The staff was great and so was the food!

However, our waitress eventually warmed up, and the service improved significantly. Once the rush died down, we were able to relax and enjoy our meal without feeling hurried. I appreciated that they were busy—it's a small place and reflects their job security. They are currently short-staffed and hiring, if anyone is interested. Now, let’s talk about the gumbo—it's absolutely fantastic, packed with plenty of fresh chicken and sausage. I was a bit cautious and only ordered a cup, worried that I might not finish it all. I also tried the small breakfast, and usually, I love taking leftovers home, but not this time. I cleared my plate, with only half a biscuit and a slice of bacon left. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. Hats off to the cook! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely recommend this place to others. I look forward to returning whenever I’m in the area. Absolutely wonderful!
