Mercado - León

We were surprised by the prices and size of meals. Meat salad was very oily and not all that tasty. Veal cheek was delicious but served with very small serve of potatoes.

And getting a real good one! We came in Mercado Bar and Restaurant and it was packed downstairs and came upstairs and it was also pretty full. But we were welcome. The hostess got us a very nice table. We ordered a salmon salad and grilled octopus. Both were delicious and beautifully prepared. We selected a Leon white wine, it was also very good. For dessert we really enjoyed a mil hojas with madame cream. It was a great dinner.

A class above most of the other restaurants in the area. A beautiful dining room upstairs and nice street dining if the weather is good. Ground floor for tapas and drinks. Food was excellent and the lunch menu is very good value (we ate at other restaurants with menu del dias st the same price and the quality at this restaurant was much better). We did lunch and dinner and enjoyed everything we had. A good wine list with a bottle of Vivanco crianca at €15, a good Rioja at a very reasonable price. Everyone was really nice.

Cómo siempre que he estado en otras ocasiones, la comida fue magnífica y la persona que nos atendió super amable. Volveremos cuando visitemos León de nuevo.
