Oh, NLCD, how we adore you! You have the best cake donuts in town. The cake is moist and packed with flavor, and the toppings are both fun and delicious. Their yeast donuts are also fantastic. The coffee is delightful, and the staff is enjoyable and friendly. It can get busy, so it's best to avoid the peak hours.

Every Friday, my son and I love to have breakfast at this cafe. The staff is fantastic; they are friendly and do a great job of keeping the line moving quickly. My personal favorite is a plain glazed donut straight out of the fryer. My son tends to pick whichever donut looks the messiest that day. The donuts are dense and crispy, which is just how I like them. Each donut has its own unique appearance, giving them a delightful handcrafted quality, though this does mean the sizes can vary quite a bit. I've encountered everything from giant to tiny donuts at North Lime. Overall, I believe you can't find a better spot for donuts in this part of town. I hope my son continues to enjoy our breakfast tradition for many more years!

We absolutely adore this coffee shop! They serve the best chocolate glazed donuts around. I really appreciate the lively vibe in the mornings, although the music can get a bit too loud at times. It would be nice if they added cushions to the outdoor seating. Nonetheless, it has a charming and cozy feel, and it's great to support a local business!

Excellent plain glazed donuts<br/ Non glazed donuts can seem rather small, and considering they are higher priced, don 't seem like a reasonable deal<br/ TIP #1:  I love chocolate, and the chocolate covered glazed is good (but very rich).  However, that chocolate masks how great the plain glazed donut really is.  I highly recommend you try the glazed in plain form if you have always been getting the chocolate covered ones.<br/ TIP #2:  If you take some home, the glazed donuts are not that great after day one.  Here is my favorite way to eat them after day one:  place the donut under your oven broiler until the top of the donut looks like it is rapidly 'boiling '.  Turn off your oven and leave it in there for another 2 minutes, and then eat!

First, I am always in support of local donuts! Second, this place is so popular that I believe a third location is needed. Third, amid all the fanfare, I still prefer Spalding, Magee's, Rolling Pin (Owensboro, KY) and Golden Glaze (Madisonville, KY). I do enjoy North Lime's whole bean roaster Nates Coffee, as well as its plain glazed donut, which was delicious; however, some of its specialty donuts, such as Funnel Cake and Funk Feti, missed the mark, in my opinion. More times than not, I am seeking a plain glazed or a chocolate iced donut, and for that, I will probably visit Spalding or Magee's, but ... not always.
