Roosters - Lexington

This was our first visit, and I was on my own with my three kids. Our server, Eva, was fantastic! The food was delicious, and even my 10-year-old commented on how clean the restaurant was. Overall, I’d rate the food 5 out of 5!

I've been to this restaurant a few times and generally had a decent experience. However, today the food arrived cold, and the medium sauce appeared to have been sitting out for a while; it had separated with oil floating on top and the rest below, giving it an oily taste. I tried to mix it, but it wouldn't combine, which was quite unappetizing. Unfortunately, the waitress never returned to check on us, so I couldn't report the issue or ask for a replacement.

I've been visiting this Rooster's for years, both for dining in and takeout, and I have my go-to dishes, one of which is the fried shrimp. In the past, it always came with a small container of cocktail sauce, and if I requested an extra, it was no issue at all. However, today I was told, "we no longer provide cocktail sauce." Are you serious? This can't be real. Their food prices have increased, yet they can’t supply a couple cents worth of sauce? I guess when I'm craving shrimp, I'll have to find another place to go.

If I could give roosters 100 stars I would. I have dined in a few times but I mostly do online orders. The food has ALWAYS been correct and delicious every single time. BIG shoutout to whoever does the online order packing process, because I love roosters pickles and a side of them is free. And because I love them I usually have 10-15 side orders of pickles and roosters has NEVER given me any less then what I asked for. This order I just made I asked for 15 sides and they have me two LARGE containers of them and I love them so much for it. I now say roosters is my favorite restaurant because of how good their food is and the staff is always very nice!!!!Parking: The parking lot is big. But a lot of people seriously do not know how to park and so that makes it a little crowded sometimes. They have designated parking up front for handicap access, and they have designated spots for online pickup, though they’re usually full because people want closer spots and just take them when they don’t have online orders.

We were running errands and decided to stop for lunch .The man at the hostess stand greeted us right away and seated us at a booth .The server came and took our drink order and delivered them quickly .We both ordered the grilled chicken tenders . They were huge ! (A portion is 4) and I could only eat two . We also ordered fried mushrooms and potato skins . They were more than generous with the order of fried mushrooms . The potato skins were crispy on the bottom as they should be . The chicken tenders were seasoned well and juicy . Everything came out quickly and was hot .My friend ordered the Strawberry Mash and I had a Stella beer . She definitely recommends the Strawberry Mash!I work in the restaurant industry I'm always conscience of the quality of food service .Our server was friendly attentive.The interior is done with wood work all around and pictures which give it an eclectic feel to it. There are several TVs and a full service bar.For the two of us it was under 50.00. Personally I think it was reasonable considering how generous they are with portions.
