They don't have bacon, but they have options like Portuguese sausage, spam, or corned beef. For lunch, I enjoyed the Aloha Bowl (a mix of chicken and beef) or the Chicken Salad. They also have daily specials, with my friends often opting for the BBQ ribs. The prices are very reasonable.
I am disappointed to have to give this small business a low rating, but my recent experience at this restaurant was very underwhelming. I was unable to even try the food due to poor communication and disorganization. When I called around 11:00 a.m. on a weekday a few weeks ago to inquire about the wait time, I was told it was only 5 minutes. I quickly drove the 20 minutes to Little Tokyo, only to find out that parking was limited and unclear about validation. After deciding to park in a nearby metered spot, I was informed that the wait had increased to 30-40 minutes. Frustrated but still hopeful, I rushed to the restaurant, only to be told upon arrival that they were no longer seating customers and were only offering takeout. This change happened within minutes of my initial call, leaving me feeling misled. While I understand the challenges faced by small businesses during the pandemic, I was disappointed by the lack of consistency in their service. I may give them another chance in the future, but wanted to share my negative experience from that day.
Discovering Aloha Cafe was a godsend for our wedding. My husband and I had always dreamed of serving Hawaiian Mixplate food at our wedding. After searching for some time, we finally came across Aloha Cafe and scheduled a tasting with Jennifer. The range of dishes they offered were all delicious and exactly what we had been searching for. While Aloha Cafe couldn't provide full catering service, we chose them for our wedding appetizers (including Spam musubi!) and buffet food. The menu featured items such as green salad, Mac salad, white rice, Kalbi ribs, Teriyaki salmon, and Teriyaki chicken. I can't emphasize enough how helpful and attentive Jennifer was throughout the entire process. She went above and beyond to assist us, providing things like banana leaves, bamboo plates, utensils, and bulk dry goods. The banana leaves played a significant role in our wedding decor (we placed them on the guest tables with the appetizers in a nod to Filipino kamayan style). Jennifer accommodated guests with dietary restrictions by creating vegan mix plates and musubis for them. One guest couldn't eat pork, so they specially made a chicken musubi just for them. Jennifer also took great care to ensure that everything was disposed of, set up, and served professionally. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed their meals, which was a departure from the typical wedding fare. My only regret is not being able to eat more! In addition to the catering, the restaurant itself is fantastic. Delicious food and exceptional service. Los Angeles is truly fortunate to have a hidden gem like Aloha Cafe!
If you're looking for delicious Hawaiian cuisine, this restaurant in LA is the place to be. Everything on the menu is excellent, but the beef and chicken dishes are particularly outstanding. The Charsiu is both sweet and flavorful. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're craving delicious Hawaiian food!
We have a Loco Moco and their special BBQ ribs, both were really good and the part are HUGE. It was enough for us to eat the remains for dinner at lol. We also ordered a side of spam musubi, the sauce on the spam was sweet and savory, tastes very good with rice. Would definitely recommend!
