Aymara Peruvian Kitchen - Los Angeles

It was definitely worth the 30-minute drive through rush-hour traffic from South Pasadena to visit this restaurant. Ralph, the owner, was incredibly warm and welcoming. He shared that the menus were inspired by his grandmother’s recipes. We started with some delicious ceviche and Peruvian street corn. For our main courses, we enjoyed the Tallarín Verde de Pollo and Lomo Saltado, along with sweet plantains in a slightly spicy sauce. We finished our meal with his flan, which was delightful. We also tried a unique viscous Emoliente drink that was fascinating. There’s plenty of easy street parking available; just be sure to pay attention to the signs. The food here is incredibly good and fresh, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options available. Although it's a small restaurant, it’s clean and charming, and it seems they also have additional seating outside. I am definitely planning to return! While I was there, I spoke with an Ecuadorian family who mentioned that the owner is Peruvian and his wife is French. It's a really interesting and international spot!

The lomo saltado was great, but I found myself coming back just for the ceviche. It's absolutely fantastic!

My husband and I had such an amazing wedding food tasting experience with Caroline at the restaurant that we ended up booking Aymara Peruvian Kitchen for our backyard wedding! Caroline was so easy to work with and helpful in planning the menu. They didan incredible job executing the day of and everyone absolutely LOVED the food. Highly recommend and cannot say enough goodthings about Caroline and her team. Thank you so much again!!!

Customer service and food presentation 10. I ordered the platter which includes a tamales, rice, fry plantain, and yucca. The food is excellent! I'm curious to try other dishes now.
