Sunnin Lebanese Cafe - Los Angeles

As a Lebanese girl, I have to say this place is absolutely delicious! I've been coming here for at least 14 years. I had to stop by Sunin while I was in the area for a family wedding, and it did not disappoint. The food is so tasty, and ordering takeout is a breeze. I just wish they would open a location in north San Diego!

I enjoyed a pleasant meal at this restaurant after watching a play at UCLA. I ordered the falafel plate, which was delicious, and the portions were quite generous. The falafels had a nice crispness on the outside while being flavorful and moist inside, and both the hummus and tahini were tasty. My friend opted for the chicken kebab plate and was very pleased with his choice. I also recommend trying the Lebanese beer from their menu. The service was friendly and accommodating, though it could be a bit slow at times. I appreciate a restaurant that takes its time rather than rushing customers through their meals. If you're in a hurry, it's best to let them know ahead of time; otherwise, settle in for a leisurely dining experience. The baklava weren't as good as I remembered, but they've been consistently enjoyable over the years, so I believe this was just an off day for them.

I recently ordered food for the first time from Sunnin Lebanese Café via Uber Eats, and I have to say, all of their dishes are absolutely delicious! However, when the Uber driver arrived and I opened the bag, I noticed a few items were missing. I called the restaurant and spoke with Nizar, informing him about the missing items. I'm not sure if the Uber Eats driver forgot to pick them up, but Nizar assured me he would get those items sent out to me as quickly as possible. He consulted with his manager, Rami, who was also incredibly helpful. As a nice gesture, they even sent an extra dessert with the second delivery. The follow-up delivery arrived quickly, and the experience wasn’t ruined by not receiving everything at once. I really appreciate the excellent service from Nizar and Rami! My girlfriend and I will definitely order from Sunnin again in the future.

Immediately from entering, you can feel a sense of warmth and hospitality classic in authentic Lebanese culture. The walls are decorated with trinkets reminiscent of Lebanon. The food is absolutely phenomenal--I recommend the mixed shawarma plate, my go-to! The meat is full of flavor and super tender! Very kind waiters as well

Overall: a very memorable and yummy experience for someone new to Lebanese food Food: 5/5 Had lots of delightful additions of acidity. Stew was well balanced though didn't have as much meat/umami flavor as I would've liked. The hummus and eggplant dips were creamy and drizzled with an extremely vibrant olive oil. Service: 5/5 Food was prompt. Servers were kind. They offered to move us to a 4 person table (even though our party was 2) since we ordered so much food. Ambiance: 4/5 Friendly and warm, though could do with some updates. Definitely a neighborhood spot kind of vibe.
