When seeing the menu just before entering the outside seating area, there is a picture of a boy with his plate in front of his face. Now we get it! At the end of our meal, we wanted to do the same. This was one...of the best vegetarian dishes we’ve ever had. Today is Wednesday which is the Gebackene Süßkartoffelscheiben im Knuspermantel daily special. The outside seating overlooks the body of water were the gondola dock and the rental boat house sits. It was just gorgeous sitting there while enjoying the meal.

Very good restaurant in pleasant location with view to canal with Local specialities Spreevald cucumbers, schnitzel, potato salad etc. Service really kind and friendly. They all understand English. We recommend Chocolate soufflé:

Beautiful terrace dining experience overlooking the river. A menu that is seasonal and influenced heavily by the availability of local ingredients combined with local culinary flavors. All staff spoke decent English and were very friendly. I would call the pricing totally appropriate and we felt...we got a good deal. I would recommend this restaurant highly and would recommend the associated Strandhaus Hotel for overnight stays.

We were there last weekend, after a boat trip in the Spreewald. I expected an overpriced, below average tourist restaurant, but I was wrong. The food is really good, I took the geschmorte Gurken mit Lachs (braised cucumber with salmon and the salmon was really...tasty. The cucumbers are a local meal, but it was also good. My other guys also liked it. It is however a little pricey for the salmon), but it was OK. Location and ambience is also nice.
