For the price, it was a decent night out, but with this dubiousquality of food I can see why it isn't very busy on a Saturday night.
The atmosphere was wonderful; it was quiet on a Saturday evening. The place was clean and comfortable, and the family service was fantastic. The food came out quickly, even though it was a slow night. The prices are very reasonable. Just keep in mind that the menu is quite limited and the hours are short, but that's because it's a small family-run business with other jobs. They seem to do this more for enjoyment than as a job, which is a nice change of pace. The flavors in the brisket could be a bit more pronounced, the pulled pork was tasty, and the ribs had a unique taste that's definitely worth trying at least once. The sides were good, and the desserts were delicious. Overall, it's a refreshing departure from the usual dining options in the Newark/Lyons area.
The food and service were fantastic! The smokehouse dishes were excellent, and the desserts were delightful.
We dined here this past weekend, as my husband was craving BBQ, and we were not disappointed! He ordered the ribs and brisket combo while I had the rib dinner. Everything arrived at our table surprisingly quickly and was absolutely delicious. Each meal comes with two sides and a piece of moist, tasty cornbread. We also received dessert, which we took home with us. The portions are generous and perfectly seasoned. The owners are incredibly friendly, and I'm really glad we decided to stop by!
Great food. Great service. Huge portions.
