Firehouse Subs - Mahwah

I've gone a few times now since they opened a month or 2 ago. I originally discovered the Firehouse franchise while we were on vacation in Virginia. After going there for lunch one day, we were hooked (no pun intended) and set out to discover one in our native New Jersey. After finding one in Princeton we've gone there a few times, and were thrilled to discover this one opening in Ramsey. The first time someone picked it up for me while at work, and upon returning it was a bit cold and not as enjoyable as I remembered. The next time, I went to pick it up after ordering online. They need to get their order process a bit improved as it was lagging; when I arrived 10 minutes after it was scheduled to be ready, it was not yet. There were several other people waiting for an online order as well and the communication was lacking. After completing 2 orders they put the bags on the back counter without saying anything, while there were clearly 4 people standing by the pick up rack. After another minute I asked and one of the orders that had been previously made was mine. The chip selection was good and the Coke freestyle machine is always a treat. I will return in the hope they are just experiencing new opening pains.

I've tried a few of the sandwiches and haven't been disappointed. A little pricey but the large sandwich is definitely worth it considering the amount of food you get. Staff is friendly and the service is pretty quick. Obviously the lunch rush makes things busy but hopefully with some time the staff will get better at handling it.

Clean environment! The staff were friendly and welcoming. My sandwich was served quickly and made just right. The food was fresh. Since it wasn't too busy, one of the employees even chatted with my friend while filling our cups.

The woman who took our order was friendly, but she didn’t suggest any additional options like the combo deal. I ended up getting a side salad and a drink for an extra $1.25. This was the only reason I gave them four stars. Overall, the food was delicious, and it was a great value for the price.
