Vera's Kitchen - Manassas

Looking at the website I thought this place was going to be a fancy restaurant. The waitresses seemed to be confused what appetizers they had left in the kitchen. I asked for a soda a was given a can. I've never eaten this kind of food but was very excited to try it. The crape/ pancake was sour tasting. The meat and sides were good but wasn't seasoned very well. I wouldn't go back to this one but I would try another one.

Very pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. When we walked in it was a very humble and homey looking place. A lady and her two sons were running the restaurant. We?ve had a lot of different kinds of int?l food and a lot of Ethiopian food and this was excellent the service was fine the food was wonderful and it was very sweet to see a mom and her two sons working so hard. What a delightful treat for lunch. The tibs were so delicious and I gotta say I could barely eat it all because the portion was so generous. The owner is a sweet heart and you can tell she raised her son right. Great family owned -and operate restaurant!

The other day me and hubby stopped here because we frequent a few Ethiopian restaurants. But sadly we didn?t enjoy this place. The reviews online said this was a great place. But we must have come on a off day or something cause the flavors were not appeasing and taste quite off. I want to give them another shot later on but as of now I will be giving it a little time before then as I wasn?t pleased

I had the vegetarian sampler platter (I can't remember the Ethiopian name of the dish) and it was so delicious! There were chick peas, lentils, mushrooms, cabbage and spinach, all with wonderful seasoning. Served on that special Ethiopian bread which tastes so good with these foods. The restaurant was clean, attractive and welcoming. The service was excellent and I didn't have to wait long at all for the food. The food is a little pricey, my vegetarian platter was around
