WOW! The guy calls himself a ‘landlord’! How polite we addressed the subject of being served raw chips and off prawns, yet he was IMMEDIATELY on the defence. His reaction was totally uncalled for and laughed at each response to his questions. So very unprofessional and then decided it was ok to come from behind the bar to confront us with his finger in our face just because we had what was initially a trivial complaint. Speechless! Appalling food nothing has changed since a few years back there! And unprofessional cooks, supervisor manager. Will NOT be returning! The place is in dior need of a higher level staff revamp, and we’re not the first to have said that!

Lovely food great staff and relaxed atmosphere can't be faulted. Not rushed thoroughly enjoyed with friends. Second visit for lunch in two weeks! Xx

Another mistake at the Roebuck (Urmston thought we would give it another visit on my Birthday just before Christmas 2023 for lunch. The place less than quarter full, so a quick service expected, wrong waited 60 mins from arriving to being served (excuse that they were very busy, short staffed ??? . Food: fish and chips ok, with Manchester caviar?? (turns out to be 'mushy peas ' £13.95 My 'featherblade ' braised steak consisted of a large amount of mashed potato, a few peas and a small piece of the said 'meat '/gravy for £17.95, very disappointed and very expensive 'mashed potato '. We called the manager to explain our concerns over the tiny portion of 'braised steak ' and his reply was to give a 15% discount and again said that staff shortages and being busy, blah, blah, blah were the 'problem ' ??? (busy? I have given a few reviews on the Roebuck over the years and it has not progressd/improved in our opinion and thankfully, Urmston now has lots of better options for food and drink with much better value. Sorry Joseph Holts, not a great experience again.

Great local pub and restaurant for family and friends to visit. Menu was varied with several vegan and vegetarian options too. Service was friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely and the deals made it very good very for money.

Met friends for coffee to discuss re-opening our local Women's Probus group. Biscuits were provided with the tea and coffee. I am coeliac, so asked for gluten-free biscuits or cakes, and was told they had none. So I paid the same as others for morning coffee but without biscuits. Staff said I could have had a GF meal at lunchtime, but I was amazed and annoyed that coeliacs were not catered for before lunchtime.
