In the meantime other customers arrived, were served and went! Another family who arrived shortly after us also waited approx. 45 minutes and then left. When I visited the manager, I was told he was out right away. He never appeared.
New owners are grateful. Not too early. Current management leads it to the ground. Can't wait to see what's new for this once favorite stop for our family.
While I stay in the area, I ate at Glisan's for breakfast and dinner. The servers were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and cheap. I couldn't believe that the cakes, rolls and chili was my favorite. I would recommend coming by.
If you were eating at Glisans years ago, it's not the same place. Ate there with a group last autumn(7) people. There was no Goog meal for us. I had buckwheat, very sour, and another dish was UNCOOKED FISH. The cakes used to be great, now they are tasty with merangue about 3 inches tall, but no taste. The sad part is the cook, about 18 came to our table to see how the food was-- he really thought he prepared a great meal. We should have thought this as Friday at 6:00, there were only three other people here. Very disappointing.
I am very particular about my steak, I like lean and tender that is just what I got when I order a New York strip, a steak that was lean and just melted in your mouth! (I even like mine cooked medium well) The desserts were plentiful and delicious, we took home wonderful pies and filled cookies. The dinner rolls are the really big, great tasting yeast rolls, the same as they served years ago. The service was fast, and our waitress was very nice and helpful. This is the Glisan's I remember from years ago, and I'm glad to see it is now the same.
