How have I been bypassing this amazing restaurant all this time? What a little gem.

In Melbourne mid week on business and only around the corner in Port Melbourne, my local based business colleague suggested we call in here for lunch as he's a regular. And what a gem of a place this is, in this very European looking warm inviting space, attentively attended to by gracious waiter, Christian. For entrees, I had the grilled Mooloolaba king prawns from the specials, and my colleague had the mushroom ravioli. My prawns were delicious and opposite me the ravioli was equally polished off. He had a slow roasted goat dish for mains which he said was fantastic and I had the spaghetti bolognaise, also very good. All enjoyed with a nice bottle of Italian red.A very nice lunch in a very nice little restaurant. I'll definitely be back.

This restaurant runs the risk of becoming our new favourite place to eat. With so many good restaurants in and around the City of Melbourne, to stand out amongst the crowd requires that little extra something. Sure, at Ciao-Ciello the food is fantastic, the service excellent and the whole experience worthy of repeating again, but the big stand out to us was the dedication to consistent quality, and the feeling that Kate and Brian wanted to share with you their passion for food and wine, not merely serve you a meal. The menu appears a little limited but still manages to provide a good choice of variety, and the food was cooked and presented to perfection. From our experience, we would rather go out to try other peoples suggestions of their wine and food, rather than complain about what they do not have on their menu's or wine lists. All four of us in our party had outstanding dishes.
