Uppa Yard - Milwaukee

Wow! What a cozy spot! It feels very welcoming, with a great balance of professionalism and a personal touch. The place was bustling with a steady stream of customers, but service was quick and efficient. The food was incredibly delicious—I couldn't finish my meal even though I wanted to! The portion sizes are generous enough for two, and my enthusiasm got the better of me. I had the curry and jerk chicken with rice and peas, and it was absolutely worth every moment in Milwaukee. Thank you, ladies! You truly outdid yourselves!

We ordered the large Jerk Chicken and Oxtail dinner with plantains, and let me tell you, the flavor was incredible. Great food has a way of evoking nostalgic memories, and this meal definitely took me back, making me reminisce about my significant other. The staff was warm and genuinely friendly, which added to the experience. I savored every bite to truly appreciate the love and effort that went into the dishes. I can’t wait to come back on our next visit. Thank you, Uppa Yard, for the amazing food and wonderful experience!

On a brighter note, we also tried the jerk egg rolls, which were quite tasty. The cabbage inside the roll was the standout ingredient; it was well-seasoned and finely chopped, making it very delicious. The chicken in the roll complemented the cabbage nicely. I’m not sure if it was just an off day for them, but we’ll definitely give it another shot.

Being busy is no excuse for subpar service! The food is fantastic, but that can only take you so far. I placed an online order, and while the food wasn’t ready by the promised time (which is fine), the missing cocoa bread is simply unacceptable! Food rating: 4/5.

I don't often give five-star ratings, but the oxtails with rice and beans here are absolutely delicious! Be sure to ask for extra gravy. The jerk chicken is also a great option. However, I wouldn't recommend the plantains again.
