Placed in the silence with a view on the hills of the langa, 3 km from Montforte d’Alba we had lunch on Saturday in the dehors. degotation Menu: 4 starters/2 first/ 2 seconds sweet and coffee. very kind and helpful staff (for dessert we asked a birthday cake ... exquisite)! recommended for those looking for a place surrounded by nature and silence.

No menu, no prices and constantly having to explain to people and then make compromises. I had read the menu basically was a fixed menu for 35 euro but many have not as its not advertised. It was all delicious as was the wine from a local supplier. Many tables around us were confused or maybe worried for the price and didn't have the 4 antipasti, 2 portions of (homemade) pasta, 2 meat main dishes, dessert and coffee.35 was a good price. Go, relax, take everything and enjoy.

We were staying a few hundred meters away and found this gem based on a recommendation from our host. Gilberto (and his granddaughter) are truly lovely people. The food is true to the area and very well prepared. As another reviewer mentioned, go with the menu of the day delicious, abundant, and varied. My wife and I will be back to the area in August and will once again visit the Arco del Castello di Perno.

In a nicely renovated building (possibly an old barn refurbished) you get one surprise after the other. If you insist, you can get dishes à la carte, but much more preferable it is to let Gilberto bring you one serving after the other, no big deal, he does it so naturally. The food is delicious, freshly prepared by the chef in the kitchen downstairs, the choice of wines superbe, what more can one want? At the end of such a feast, a 5 course Piemontese meal that keeps you at it for a couple of hours, you pay 30 EUR p.p. for the meal, and an extra 15 EUR for a bottle of local Dolcetto. RECOMMENDED!
