Porongurup National Park - Mount Barker

The hike and scenery are stunning. The restrooms are clean, and there are plenty of picnic tables available, along with a barbecue set up on the grounds.

It was a fantastic hike! It was all uphill, but that made the way back much easier. The scramble along the path was enjoyable, and you definitely need to be able to move around.

I adore the Porongurups! I first visited this enchanting place in 1957 as a young child, and I’ve always known it was something special. That was 64 years ago. For the past 20 years, I have had the pleasure of staying at Thorns Mountain Retreats. Every day, I express my gratitude for the opportunity to live in such an incredible location and to share it with others. The magic of the forests, rocks, and peaks is truly captivating. It’s a place where you can feel completely free! We are located right next to the national park, which means our guests can walk just 50 meters and then embark on hikes and climbs to many breathtaking summits from here. It's truly remarkable. Lovely trail, the uphill and mud made is challenging but still doable for most hikers.
