The seating arrangements and décor are comfortable and conducive to spending a good amount of time in the restaurant. One must-try item is the Coffee Mojito, a refreshing mix of coffee and orange juice. The Huevos Rancheros is a delicious breakfast option with refried beans, eggs, cheddar, sour cream, and salsa. The Chicken Yakitori is a Japanese-inspired dish with juicy and tender chicken skewers. The Pumpkin Goat Cheese Risotto is a heavy but flavorful dish, while the Slow Cooked Lamb Goulash is a stew of tender lamb meat and vegetables. For dessert, the Apple Cinnamon Crepe is a must-try, with a nice cinnamon kick and made in front of you in the open kitchen. The Duo of Baked Yogurt and Flourless Chocolate Orange Fudge Cake are also recommended. Overall, AKA Bistro does a great job with their food and atmosphere. Cheers to them for a job well done!
As soon as you enter you see this well decorated stairway. There is a boutique on the top floor its called Love from India and its pretty good . We ordered for the Pumpkin soup which was really good. For starters we ordered brocolli cakes and tofu tacos. The brocolli cakes were really nice and soft, well seasoned and they melted in the mouth. But i was dissapointed with the tofu tacos, it had too much of the Chinese cabbage . For the mains we called for baked mac and cheese and it was amazing, this is a must try, perfectly cooked and perfectly cheesy. For dessert we ordered a Blueberry cheese cake which was awesome and the Creme brule was out of the world due to its combination with the ginger icecream. The staff is extremely polite with prompt service .
Aka Bistro Situated in the hub of Kalaghoda amidst bustling restaurants , Aka bistro is your modern art interiors goals . I am not exaggerating it but it's a fusion of fashion and food and combined beautifully. As I stepped in, I was mesmerised by the interiors what the place has to offer . There is modern well thought pieces of art everywhere by the window . While magazines are hung by the lamp, different kinds of work like painted dishes, dresses with mingled artificial food cannot go unnoticed. It sums up to a perfect a place for high tea. Every dish on the menu is inspired from a fashion statement. I ordered a pink chiffon for drinks which is a cranberry inspired drink. Then I ordered for falafel . The falafel was so wholesome and fresh , I couldn't help but gobble it down. The sour crepes are served with lot of veggies again serving as a healthy option. I then opted for a burger which was totally yum . They had given a cottage cheese Patty served with fries and sour cream which acted as my indulgent perfect snack. Then I called for blueberry cheesecake. It's great for people who are fond of authentic cheesecake. I am somebody who likes normal cakes more than the cheesecakes. The blueberry component was a bit less in the dish. Overall I browsed along the menu, I had such a lovely time just reading at the variety of dishes they offer. This place is something which gives me the feeling of stepping into an artistic fashion boutique with great food so it's a win-win !
A nice restaurant that serves up some good continental food with some Asian fusion options. I really enjoyed their pasta. They have a breakfast menu and a Jain selection too. The decor is a bit hit and miss, and the staff is quite good.
'Lovely European cuisine, a nice pleasant ambiance ' Located in one of the myriad lanes of Kala Ghoda, is this quaint Café which is named as AKA – Also Known As; it seeks to marry the two passions of its proprietor, Fashion Food by creating a space to exhibit retail their in house creations on the top level of the Café. The Café has utilized the high ceiling height properly by creating a mezzanine floor which has some tables and a display of their clothes, there is huge wide stairway which leads up to it. Both these give you a feel of hugeness of the space they have. They have used a lot of yarn to create a wonderful design from the edge of either side of the stairway to the ceiling where the yarn curves, forms into a spindle over a large iron central piece. They have used frosted stained glass to enable maximum light in the Café and give it a pleasant feel. The colour tone of the Café is sky blue, white and black which again helps lighten up this place but not too much. MUST HAVE: MEZZE PLATTER: Baba Ganoush, Hummus, Tzatziki, Toasted Pita bread. MARINATED ROASTED BELL PEPPERS finely diced were neatly laid on toast with salted capers and topped with Cream Cheese. BROCCOLI CAKES made like the Turnip cakes but more lighter, fluffier softer. It was served on a Cherry Tomato Coulis. FOREST MUSHROOMS ON TOAST, my favourite and needs no more explanation TOFU TACO – Raw Mango juliennes, Purple Cabbage, Ginger Mayo, Tofu Fritters, Sriracha Mayo, were neatly layered in red taco shell. The slight spice of the Sriracha Mayo was countered nicely by the pungent Ginger Mayo. RATATOUILLE CREPE This difficult to pronounce dish seemed to be a distant French cousin of our own Dosa. Buckwheat Crepe was nicely swirled and served into a triangular shape. The inside was then layered with Zucchini Eggplant cooked in a tomato based mild gravy. It was served layered with Feta Cheese. VEGETABLE PAELLA This sticky Spanish preparation had a nicel blend of pungency and spice. The pungency was derived from Aioli and the spice from yellow black pepper. It had a host of vegetables in it as well; Flatbeans, broccoli, bell peppers and Zucchini. It was served with a dollop of cream cheese on top and some dry spice on it. I loved this dish for the varied flavours and the variety of vegetables; a cousin of our desi Dal Khichdi. EGGPLANT RAVIOLI This was a very unique kind of Ravioli I have ever had so far. The Ravioli I have had so far are the one stuffed with spinach or mushroom with cottage cheese and some spices. Length wise cut slices of eggplant were slightly blanched to make them soft, they were then stuffed with an apple mash pine nuts and rolled into cigar like shapes. They were placed on a bed of Spaghetti and layered with a tangy, spicy pungent Arabiatta sauce. The sauce was just as it ought to be; PERFECT. COFFEE MOJITO A lovely concoction layered with varied flavours; the strong earthy flavour from the Espresso, freshness from the Mint leaves, a dash of citrus from Lime Orange and the fizz from the Soda. FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE ORANGE FUDGE CAKE A super delicious Chocolate Fudge cake which is made flourless, a super treat for those with a gluten allergy. It is served with Vanilla Ice cream and a swirl of Orange syrup. AKA Bistro serves some very nice European cuisine and has some twists by way of some dishes from Asia. The Café is huge and has a very calming and pleasant effect. The service is nice and help is just a question away. If you want to try some food away from the normal Café stuff then head here on the double. Food Quantity – 4 5 Food Quality – 4 5 Ambiance – 4 5 Service – 4 5
