Canal View Family - Newark

I've heard there may be new ownership, though I'm not certain if that's the case, but this has become my new favorite restaurant! The staff is incredible, and the food is delicious! I'm especially fond of their fish fries, which are available every single day, as well as their creamy Italian salad dressing. Whenever I order takeout, it’s never taken more than 15 minutes. This place is the ideal hometown diner, but even better! Just a note: the photo shows only the fish fry; I completely forgot to take a picture of the generous side of mashed potatoes with gravy and the side salad.

This restaurant is fantastic! The atmosphere is clean, and the staff is very friendly. The food is consistently prepared as requested, served piping hot, and always delicious! I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a meal!

I recently relocated from Connecticut and was on the hunt for a restaurant that offered a tasty meal, excellent service, reasonable prices, and a cozy atmosphere that reminded me of home. I decided to try this place last week for the first time, and I immediately knew I had found what I was looking for. The burger I had was the best I've ever tasted! I returned today, and everything was just as perfect. I had to take an important call for an interview, and the waitress was incredibly kind and patient, even offering me a pen and paper to jot down notes.

First time there. Ordered breakfast and everything was cooked as ordered. Poached eggs were perfect. Waitress (Samantha) was very friendly. Will be dining there again.

Good food, friendly staff. When this pandemic is over, the restaurant deserves an interior overhaul!
