The Old Winery Restaurant

We dropped in for dinner Tuesday August 22,2017We had the meatball appetizer and the veal parmigiana and the arugula salad and the white pizza called Sauvignon Blanch. My husband ate the meatballs and the veal Parm. He came down with severe food poisoning (ecoli) 12 hours later. He attended 2 doctor offices. He is now on antibiotics and pain relievers. He is in extreme pain and unable to work. He is bedridden. This restaurant has always been inconsistent with food quality. It has been a nightmare since dining at this restaurant.

The food was delicious, the service was quick and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Lots of parking available. You can rent the downstairs for a private function. The quirkiest part was a speaker playing Italian lessons in the bathroom rather than playing music. So at least if I need to buy two single train tickets to Verona, I'm prepared.

Went there with a large group on a Sunday evening. The service was very poor. The food was OK, there were some interesting and enjoyable dishes. They were out(at 7PM) of the house fish special. The Gazpacho appetizer I had, I can make one much better. Also, it was served lukewarm. The wine list was restricted to Niagara wines. It was not inexpensive. I fail to see what the fuss is about.

We stopped for lunch on our way out of town. Amazing thin crust pizza and a chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. Fast service and in spite of being on a busy road, the patio is out back surrounded by trees, so very nice.

We dine here often as the location is convenient - not in the old town and no worries about parking.When friends visit, this is our restaurant of choice because the food is always tasty and the price is reasonable, not easy in NOTL. I had the thin-sized pizza and took home several pieces. The salads were great as was the craft beer from local brew-masters! The service is always efficient and friendly.
