G.G.'s Eatery - NOELVILLE

Food was good, great burgers. Salad was good. Soup was fair. Very friendly. Waitress not that bright. Been their with family too in February some of us got cold food and hard toast. Fish and chips and the fish not thoroughly cooked.

We have stopped here a few times and it is always clean and friendly. What I like most, is there's actually a person back there cooking in the kitchen versus somebody opening up a frozen box of M&M food and cooking it. The cook (I think he is also the owner) does seem to thoroughly and genuinely enjoy what he's doing and you can taste it in the food.

We were cottaging in the area and decided to treat ourselves to a pickerel dinner as we were unlucky in catching fish ourselves. We called in advance that day and were told they had fresh fish available. An amazing meal, we each had a large piece of lighted breaded fresh pickerel with tasty fries, cole slaw and lemon wedge. The young lady who served us was very pleasant and helpful in answering our questions as to where to find a detailed map of the French River. The restaurant is very clean and tidy and is located in the centre of the small town of Noelville - convenient to the Pickerel and French Rivers area. An overall delightful experience!

We were delighted by the home made hamburger soup that was as hearty as a generous bowl of chili. The grilled cheese sandwich was just right. The special was a steak sandwich with stir fried vegetables and melted cheese in a fresh and warm crusty bun; very satisfying. The decor is simple and clean and the service rapid and attentive.

The food at this restaurant is excellent. One dish you must try is their poutine, which consists of French fries topped with gravy and cheese curds. We were hesitant at first because we didn't know what it was, but the owner kindly brought us a sample to try and it was fantastic. The cheese curds are made locally, adding to the freshness of the dish. After meeting the owner and tasting the food, it was clear why many locals choose to dine at GG's Eatery. We dined there on three separate occasions with a group of five and each meal was outstanding.
