We came on a weekday when they only had bar/counter service, and was pleasantly surprised with quality of food and service. We found street parking easily, as there is free 2 hr parking around the area. Note, we did come as soon as they opened around 1000. Though it was self serve mostly, the girls working were plenty attentive to our needs. We had our two dogs with us and so we were sitting outside on the patio, but the girls working brought us water for the dogs and an umbrella to keep us shaded on the hot sunny day. For food we got the eggs benedict and the fried chicken sandwich. Everything was delicious! Eggs benny had some brisket which was on the saltier side but paired well with the greens. We didnt expect the fried chicken salad to be cold, but also it was surprisingly tasty. Definitely seems to be good for bigger groups as indoor seating was plenty and they also have a large patio area lining the sidewalks. Would definitely be back!
Good food. Good drinks. Good service. I recommend the chicken and waffles for breakfast.
We ordered the crop classic and the burchfield. Both were extremely good and reasonably priced!! This was definte some of the best food I've had in Norfolk! Plus the building is gorgeous! They have a rotating art gallery and tons of natural light and plants. Definitely worth the visit!
I had heard great things about this restaurant and its commitment to sourcing ingredients locally, but I was a bit disappointed. I tried their version of a French dip, and while it was decent, the overpowering flavor was mainly just salt. The other diner I was with ordered a fried chicken sandwich that appeared to be overcooked. It was quite dark, suggesting it had been fried for too long, and it had a slight bitter, burnt taste. Overall, it wasn't awful, and the staff was very friendly, but I likely wouldn't return.
