Communal Kitchen - NYACK

Good food was overshadowed by inattentive service and an atmosphere that made regular dinner conversation impossible. After sitting for what seemed like 30 minutes we finally had to tell Alex, our waiter, we were ready to order. When we tried to order drinks and appetizers he chastised us and insisted on taking our entire order then and there. So we dropped our entree plans and just ordered our appetizers. The food took an incredibly long time to come to the table. When it finally did it was hot and tasty. When the bill came I was shocked to see a $200 bill for a party of 4 with no entrees. Insane prices.

They could not have been nicer, warmer or friendlier. We skipped the table and sat at the bar...bartender Ryan was awesome and made perfect cocktails. Food was delicious and very generous portions! (Could not eat more than half enjoyed the rest on Sunday, lol The only thing I could not help noticing (as I consider going back there possibly with my dad who uses 2 canes... is that there are 2 awful steps to get in with no handrail and I did not see an accessible entry. Could this be true? There must be another door...

This was our 2nd visit to Communal Kitchen and we will be going back! The service and considerations by the staff are amazing. The food is out of this world, different, delicious, just all around wonderful!
