The fella behind the bar stood there talking to his friends and poured their beer while we sat there for 15+ min. He didn't even acknowledge us. The only waitress was swamped with tables, while he did nothing. Several other people who arrived after us also walked out, all without being served. We won't be back.
Because of my relationship to the Lebwicks and Bud Eakle, it was bitter sweet. I think they all would be very pleased and proud of what National clothing has become.
We visited this little brewery in a historic building in downtown Oregon on a quick tour through northern Illinois. It wasn't really on our agenda, but since we were nearby, we decided to stop. They had a good variety of beers, and a nice menu of meals and snacks. We opted for the Brewhaus Bread and Oil which was a great option holding us over until we got to our dinner location. The brewery did have a very heavy deep fry odor. There were also TVs at the bar area and ample seating at tables nearby.
Good flat bread pizzas. And a delicious old fashion!!
I stopped at Ogle County Brewery in Oregon after visiting the nearby Lowden State Park on a day trip from Chicago with a friend in the Fall. The weather was nice enough to sit on the sidewalk patio in front of the brewery and enjoy a flight of beers. The brewery is located in a historical brick building on main street in town, but the traffic was not too bad. We enjoyed quite a few beers that we tasted. The brewery appears to be a gathering place for the townsfolk a s we could gather from the stage preparations under way for a music performance. The brewery also serves food, but we did not order any food. Ogle County Brewery is certainly a place to stop by if one is in the area.
