The Saloon At The Historic Western

I spent a night here while traveling to Durango, and I had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, and the room was very clean. It really captured the authentic old Western atmosphere.

Charming historic hotel with a convenient booking and check-in process. I do wish there was more historical information showcased throughout the hotel. Unfortunately, we visited while the saloon was closed (due to COVID), but I imagine it would have greatly enhanced the atmosphere!

The stairs leading to the second floor are very steep with narrow steps, so be cautious when using them. Unfortunately, the rooms were dusty, indicating a lack of proper cleaning, which raises concerns about sanitation and virus prevention. The shared toilets were unhygienic and unpleasant. Overall, this place really needs to improve its cleanliness and facilities; I believe it should be shut down.

This was a disaster. The owners should be ashamed. There was little heat with leaky windows. The shower dribbled hot water. There was no way to get help during the night. At $150 we expected much more. Avoid this place! The only redeeming part was the young lady who worked the front desk.
