My friend and I went to Pacifica to gather food for a mini-birthday picnic at Grey Whale Cove State Beach. We stopped in Shampa's, and immediately, we felt like we were among friends or family. The friendly mother and daughter (Margaret and Simone? were warm and helpful, explaining all of the flavors and specials. We bought 5 mini-pies, and my favorite was the chocolate (with Guittard chocolate! . The pie fillings were the stars: rich chocolate, bright fruit flavors, and not too much thickener or sugar. The crust didn't have much structural integrity, but was very tasty. Shampa's Pies flies the Progress Pride flag in front of their business. My friend and I are not part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, but that welcoming symbol made us even happier to be supporting this local business. Yes, we had a lovely picnic with Dinosaurs' bánh mì and our pies, but the delightful proprietors of that bakery added a special shine to that day.
Chocolate chip cookies are the best I've had! The lies are really good too try them all to find your favorite !
Shampa's Pies is without a doubt my favorite bakery in all of San Francisco and Pacifica. I have yet to try a single pie from Shampa's that I did not love. Their sweet potato pie specifically is life changing (and my personal favorite) and the strawberry rhubarb is amazing as well. Every time I bring pies from Shampas home to my family, they are gone by the end of the day. Whenever I stop by, either at a farmer's market or their storefront in Pacifica, their employees are always incredibly kind and helpful, and will walk you through any and all questions you may have about their goods, including questions regarding dietary restrictions, the sourcing of their ingredients, the baking method, or simply which samples are available that day. I would highly recommend stopping by Shampa's Pies and supporting a family owned business, their products are not only delicious, but are evidently made with so much care and passion.
I struggle to find the words to describe my love for Shampa's Pies; they're a charming, family-owned bakery, both of which are factors that are clear in the delicious pies they bake. Every time I stop by their Outer Sunset farmer's market stall, I'm greeted with a smile and kind conversation. As a passionate citrus fan, their lemon chess pie takes the cake for me; a perfect balance of tart and sweet. They also excel in the autumnal classics like apple, pumpkin, and pecan. I'm also a huge fan of the different sizes, a mini pie or hand pie is perfect for on-the-go or just for one, and their larger sizes are perfect for a family gathering over the holidays; my family and I know Shampa's to be the perfect place to get a delicious pumpkin pie. All in all, Shampa's is definitely one of my favorite Bay Area bakery spots of all time, and if you're ever in the Pacifica area or passing by their stall at the farmer's market, be sure to grab yourself a delicious treat made with love.
