The menu features a fresh fish buffet and à la carte options, with the meatballs being a highly recommended favorite. The desserts are homemade, traditional, and incredibly delicious. In addition to the dining experience, guests can relax in a spectacular sauna housed in a typical Finnish wooden structure. Despite being located in the center of Nauvo, the restaurant is peaceful and quiet, surrounded by houses and locals. The establishment also plays a social role in helping local families improve their economy and way of life.
A place with history in the middle of the island of Nauvo (in the heart of the Finnish archipelago of Turku). It is a hotel-restaurant with almost 100 years of history that, among other things, served as an improvised hospital during World War II. Until 2009 it was only a hotel, but since that year they started with an old-style restaurant, decorated as if it were a grandmother's house and offering typical and traditional food that one cannot miss, especially the desserts. As for the hotel, they offer single, double, and even small family cottages with all the necessary amenities, including a kitchen, although in my opinion it is better to go down to the restaurant to eat. All decorated in a very traditional way, perfectly equipped, and very clean. Prices vary depending on the season, although a single room in high season would cost around 55 euros and one for four people around 125 euros. As for the restaurant, it is like stepping back in time, with old-fashioned decoration, decorative elements from another era like a gramophone or very old cabinets. Everything, honestly, very well balanced. It has a buffet of very good quality fresh fish with a wide variety and also à la carte food. The meatballs are amazing and highly recommended... But above all, the desserts. Homemade, typical, and extremely delicious, they could be the downfall of many. It has also had a spectacular sauna in a typical wooden cottage for about three years where you can relax in the most typical Finnish way possible. Although it is located in the center of the city of Nauvo, it is not at all a noisy place and is quite peaceful. There are hardly any houses or establishments around (close by, but not attached), and it is a place where you can also breathe a certain peace. Currently, it also has a social mission helping many families improve their economy and way of life.
