Mazatzal Casino - Payson

The security guards were not only rude, but worried about the fun they had. I understand that no beer can go into a room, but the guests are harassing and checking their vehicle to ensure that their acceptance, whether said beer was introduced, was a little much I left it in my truck). the security continued to follow us around the casino area the rest of the evening even into the rest room. I paid $416 for a 2 overnight stay to be treated like a criminal, also my only vacation I'm getting away from my four children for the year. I felt haunted and uncomfortable that it was annoying. the casino area is minimal and the machines held jamming and buttons not working very old machines). Compared to casino arizona and We-ko pa this was very disappointing as I am from the city area and visited the other casinos frequently. the staff at the bar was also 50/50 on their costume service. the only positive thing I can say is that the maids and rooms check-in staff were delightful people who seemed happy to be there and so help them to make them beautiful for at least moments of stay. I will never stay there again, nor will I recommend to anyone I know to stay!

NO SMOKING is posted through out the place, yet people are permitted to smoke. I did enjoy their Cedar Ridge restaurant, lots of food for a fair price. However, upon our return home on Memorial Day, we wanted to eat breakfast there but unfortunately they were not open. If it was due to the holiday, there should have been a sign indicating that fact.

Please don’t go by the negative reviews. We almost didn’t book a room here because of all of them. I am so glad we did! We arrived into town about 2pm. We knew check in wasn’t until 3pm, so we hit the casino for a little while. It isn’t huge, but it is adequate for a local casino. And while a lot of the games are older, they do have some modern Fireball and Lightening Link games that we enjoyed. We both hit hand pays back to back on side by side machines while there. The casino staff is very friendly and we watched a lot of people winning! Look at their Facebook page for their daily winners! This casino is not right! We checked in at 3pm without issue. We went to our room which was surprisingly big! It wasn’t run down, it appeared very updated and modern. Extremely clean! I am super picky about rooms and had no issues at all. We only had one night booked and needed a room for a second night. The front desk was so accommodating checking for cancellations for me each time I stopped by. Just before check out the next day they said that they had one cancellation…we snatched it up. They even figured out a way for us to not have to change rooms. Absolutely fantastic service. We ate 3 meals in the restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. The host that helped us be seated for two of those meals was the nicest young man, I wish I had gotten his name. He was beyond friendly! We joked, chatted and he was so engaging. Definitely a valuable employee! The lunch was our favorite meal by far, not to say the other meals weren’t good, but lunch was amazing. The prices are so low! I don’t think we spent $100 for all three meals combined. We loved it and we will definitely be back!

Our 55+ community took a day bus trip to the Mazatzal Casino and we had a marvelous time! Early bird breakfast of biscuits gravy, scrambled egg, sausage or bacon for only $3.99...wow it was delicious!! It's a small casino but very clean and the slots paid often. Super nice folks all over from our hostess to the floor walkers offering assistance. The buffet was small but quite tasty. Our waitress was very attentive to ensure we had everything needed. Smoking is permitted but unless you see someone smoking, you wouldn't know it. The air is exchanged often to remove the smoke. Advise taking a light jacket if you chill easily. Overall, I highly recommend this delightful casino and will be going back.

The lady at the front desk was very nice; the rooms are very nice , everything else was terrible.The bartenders at the sports bar were absolutely ridiculous. Ignored us all night even when we tipped them well.I would not recommend this hotel and casino to anyone strictly on how horribly we were treated by the sports bar staff.The casino is small, and the machines are old. Your time and money would be better spent elsewhere.
