La Santisima - Phoenix

The menu at this restaurant is very intricate and the staff is understaffed, making it difficult for them to explain the items. If you don't speak Spanish fluently, most of the menu options may be a mystery to you.

I am disappointed that the two older locations have closed down, but I must say that this third location is a winner. I really enjoyed my tacos, el gaucho, and arrachera - served enfrijolada style. My wife and I also had a Paloma cocktail and a shot of 1800 reposado. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food and tequila options. I will definitely be returning to Phoenix just for their tacos and tequila. Thank you.

This restaurant serves the best Mexican food I have ever tasted. On Christmas Eve, my group of 10 dined here and we were impressed by the delicious food, generous portions, and attentive staff. Despite living in Buckeye, I believe it is worth making the trip to Phoenix and 16th Street for this amazing cuisine. I typically do not favor Mexican food, but this place is an exception. The price per person, including tip and alcohol, was reasonable.

The food here is so good. They have won awards for their Horchata and Guacamole for a reason. They have a beautiful flavor balance. I also loved the Black Mole, but the pork was a little dry. The Pink Mole was okay, I didn't really taste the distinct flavors it advertised. I had the Gaucho taco with Argetenian steak, which had less flavor than I anticipated. Overall though, it was delicious and stands out in a good way.

Love this spot and their salsa bar!!! The ones to the left are the spicy ones and the ones and the right not so spicy.
