It looked ok however, the manager was extremely rude to my partner who tries her best to speak French and usually has no problem in conversing and shows some respect for the French however this person asked her to speak English so he could understand her, this really knocked all her confidence. Then the food.. The starters were deep fried on the outside and frozen in the middle and to get attention took an age as the waiters are star gazing most of the time LOOK at the customers occasionally might be useful. They did take them back and replace so the food (starters) are frozen not fresh. As for the fish and chips much the same deep fried from frozen. Even an urangutang could cook better food. If you like re cooked frozen food this is the place for you. If you want fresh give it a miss. And, although this is a restaurant you might need earplugs as the music is far too loud. No atmosphere, **** food and rude manager perfect for a night out!!!
This might have been a good restaurant in the past but now it is of very poor quality. The menu is the same but the quality is terrible and the place is very dirty and left to rot.
We planned on fish and chips as was recommended but the special sounded good too and it was amazing! My husband loved the fish and chips and I loved the scallops with squid ink risotto in a cream sauce. Fish soup served complimentary! Creme brûlée for dessert. Super beers and wine! Wish we had time to go again!
From the outside some might find this place unattractive and rapidly pass by. This would be a shame as although it's a bit cramped inside the menu and the food make up for any cosmetic issues. Yes it seems to be a bar with a restaurant but please don't be put off. My fish was first rate, my wife's rabbit starter excellent she pronounced and her mains just as good. My starter very good and desserts well prepared and tasty. Cost wise it cost us just over 30 Euros each for a very good meal. Attractive and attentive staff very relaxed service but efficient. Discounting the restaurant at the Hotel des Sables up the road (which is in a different class) this is the best place to eat in Porspoder with food almost every bit as good as that at the des Sables. We even got an amuse bouche, which we didn't expect.
Late dining, we were welcomed despite the hour and were given a really special ‘room’ of our own to dine in (like a mini-library). Staff were super friendly and helpful and I found a veggie (dahl) dish and some great ‘éperlan frits’. All very tasty.
