Bare Bones Fish and Chips

By no means a fancy place (a renovated church,) it has a limited menu, both drink and food. However, the servings were plentiful, service was good, especially since there were only two servers working during a busy dinner hour. The food was excellent. If you go away hungry it's your fault since there is plenty on the plate. Would happily return if given a chance.

I live in Port Alberni and our family frequently chooses Bare Bones because the food is always good and the service is excellent!

My wife and I visited one day before taking a day trip to Tofino. We were blown away by the quality and the quantity of the food. The service was excellent as well.

It has become a permanent stop in Port Alberni. Lunch at Bare Bones. Fresh fresh fish, nicely cooked in several different styles. I had the cod with an English style batter and my wife had Salmon with a Panko crust. Both were great, The fries are crisp and done just right. I think the building was a church at one time. Its large and open. The only complaint I would have was that the chairs were a little hard. Very small price to pay for a great meal. Highly recommended.

Stopped here on way to Ucluelet to the joy of many hungry travelers. We were not disappointed in portions, taste, and service as we enjoyed cod, salmon among other things. It was so good we stopped there again on our way off the island! Don't change a thing Bare Bones!
