Allan's Fireside Grill - Port Elgin

Wings were tasty, beer was cold. Ribs were delicious with Guinness bbq sauce although a tad dry, i think it may have been too close to closing to order ribs. Crab cakes were a nice surprise.We sat on the patio it’s a large outdoor seating area with lots of trees and flowers very inviting. Server was very friendly and had great hustle. We did the short walk up from the marina, Port Elgin is a beautiful town.Parking: Plenty of parking beside the buildingWheelchair accessibility: Big wide gentle slope cement ramp to the front door. Patio is also accessible from the sidewalk.

This restaurant is amazing with a friendly atmosphere. The waitress was so friendly and kind. The food was absolutely delicious. Prices are reasonable.This restaurant is also open until 11pm on weekends which is nice as a lot of restaurants closed.

The food here was really bad!! Went on a date night after spending the day in Port Elgin and our entire meal was gross. We were drawn to the patio. Burger was super dry and tasteless and even the sweet potato fries were burnt! My wife’s meal, a chicken Caesar salad, which I don’t know how you can even go wrong with, was also bad chicken was super dry and she said the dressing tasted like it was out of a bottle of Kraft.

Absolutely HORRIFIC food quality and service. As a business owner and having had extensive experience myself in the food service industry, the manager, Tyler, is the most unprofessional person I have ever encountered and is an embarrassment to the industry. I tried to send back a cocktail that was not to my liking (that I did not consume at all except for one sip and was told that I had to still pay for it because I cannot “taste test” menu items and that the restaurant was not a “grocery store”. I could not believe the rudeness of this person. He then admitted to me that he had been eavesdropping on my conversation with my dining partner and that I was someone who “does this all the time”, in reference to my comment about sending things back that are subpar. The food was also TERRIBLE (grilled veggie wrap had soggy peppers and HOT LETTUCE in it!! but I did not want to make a scene over the food as well. I would be VERY interested to see behind the scenes in the kitchen of this establishment, considering how this manager runs the FRONT of house ?

Though the atmosphere was nice , especially at the bar.I ordered the ribs and regretted it , they came out dry and cold like they were sitting all day . They had run out of bake beans that supposedly served with the ribs . If I wasn’t that hungry I wouldn’t have ate them .Nevertheless The chicken wings were good and the waitress was pleasant .My opinion I would only return to maybe have a fresh burger or chicken wings but the “slow smoked ribs” were dry like the Sahara desert and nothing special otherwise .
