Here's how I would describe this restaurant: -Locally owned. -Small menu of mainly Americanized Mexican dishes. -Nachos with salsa are free -There are a few unique menu items. The lamb burrito is a standout. Basically it's like a gyro wrapped as a burrito with Mexican seasoning. -Menudo is available for those seeking more traditional Mexican fare. -No-frills decor with ample seating. You order at the counter and pay after eating, but there is table service. -Friendly staff and prompt service. -A few healthier options, such as grilled fish tacos/burritos, are quite good. -Both their homemade hot sauces are worth trying.
I had the chicken nachos. They were delicious. The chips were fresh and all the ingredients were well seasoned and fresh.
The taco salads from this place are a true masterpiece. They only use black beans, which I love, and the Carne Asada is packed with flavor. They're very generous with the avocado, and the freshly fried shell adds a delightful crunch to this beautifully presented salad. Just a heads-up: the red/orange sauce is quite spicy. Delicious, but it's definitely on the spicy side!
I ordered shrimp soup and mole with chicken enchiladas, along with two sodas, all for $38. You really can't go wrong with this place. The portion sizes are quite generous.
