At the end of our almost 2 hours stay, we had the most of the happy hour menu, including Martinis, house red wine (a big Chianti), house white wine, lamb meat balls. Polandta, Calamari and a cold meat plate. Great staff and a real neighborhood motto!
Delicious salad with savory porchini mushrooms, peppery greens, sweet red onions, crumbly shaved parmesan and a toasted pine nuts vinaigrette. Delicate, pillowy gnocchi in a bright tomato-butter sauce. Crusty bread served with coarsely flaked salt and the most delicious fruity olive oil I've ever tasted. Also: thoughtful, friendly service. Comfortable seating, cozy decor. It may be Goldilocks’ version of upscale Italian dining. Everything was ... just right.
Exquisite, upscale, Italian bar and lounge. Our server Eric/D'Eric/James/Jameson was patient, informative and playful with our varied group of five. The Malbec wine was exactly what I wanted (a little bite, but full and smooth). The zinc had a deep, full body taste. The oil and the salt with the bread was simply in the presentation, but a fantastic game of flavors on the tongue. The Calamari was so much easier to eat not fried, and the garlic aioli sauce that went with was more than pleasant. Kudos to the bartender who made my Irish coffee: it was the best I had. Finally, it was a wonderful experience that we could take our drinks with us from Bar Mingo to Caffe Mingo.
Bar Mingo has quickly become one of my favorite dining places in the city. From a great happy hour, a decadent and delicious menu, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere and staff I would highly recommend passing for a drink, some amazing food and service, and phenomenal dessert!
We love the whole family of Mingo restaurants. Bar Mingo naturally has a large bar her special cocktails are fun, but it is her excellent delivery to the standards I love and her wine list. But the food in Bar Mingo is exceptional. The grilled lamb dogs I had this week were amazing how the green beans and roasted new potatoes I had with them. My son and husband were also enthusiastic about their meals. A bonus that we almost turned away when we saw that a jazz combo played my son who is hard to hear was the visit of SF and conversation was our focus. But they sat carefully, the combo was gentle and very excellent, and together we had a GREAT evening!!
