It’s a great breakfast and brunch place with plenty of choices. We specifically came to try the biscuit sandwiches, and they did not disappoint! I highly recommend that visitors try them as well. We also ordered the blueberry pancakes, which we really enjoyed. Overall, it’s a lovely spot to have a meal in Portland.
I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars because it truly deserves it! Everything here is amazing! My boyfriend ordered the McIsley while I had the veggie Reggie deluxe. We also enjoyed some coffee and a peach cobbler pop tart, which were incredible—so delicious that it’s almost sad to finish the last bite. The veggie biscuits and gravy were fantastic, and their shiitake mushroom gravy is absolutely the best I’ve ever tasted.
The cornmeal pancakes are outstanding—fluffier than I anticipated compared to a homemade recipe we've relied on for years. There’s just the right amount of blueberries, making them delicious without being soggy! The egg and cheese biscuit was tasty, though it felt a bit heavy. The hash browns were large, flavorful, and perfectly crispy. We would definitely return for the unique and exciting menu, along with the fantastic coffee selections.
You won’t leave hungry! The biscuit sandwiches are stacked a mile high. The sweet and savory Mcisely is perfectly fried chicken with pickles, brown mustard and honey. Heavenly if you’re fried chicken fan (and highly recommended .The Club is also an excellent choice with fried chicken or brisket (or both as a special request , bacon and ranch. The Cesar salad was good.Lots of places don’t deliver on service anymore; however, the service at Pine State Biscuits was exceptionally thoughtful. Shout out to the guys who helped us. Here’s the scoop. Arrived shortly before closing on Saturday afternoon. Went inside to confirm food service was still available and that pet friendly seating was too (it is! . Then went back out with a menu to collect my family’s order. The host, not wanting us to be disappointed, came out to tell us they were out of certain menu items. He also made sure we knew where to sit. The friendly crew got us all set-up outside, checked on us often and took great care of us even though they were closing. We never felt rushed, in fact, they discouraged rushing. Shout out to them for creating good vibes at lunch. Super nice!
One of my favorite spots for southern food in Portland. The biscuits were so fluffy and buttery I could just order those without anything else. The chicken pot pie was my next favorite as it had the same kind of buttery flaking pie shell. The chicken fried steak was a little heavy and too oily for me. The chicken tasted a bit to mushed compared to other fried steaks I’ve had. Next time I would get a the chicken pot pie or a biscuit sandwich. Just anything with a biscuit!!
